Amazing amount raised at fundraising football game

On what was a lovely sunny Bank Holiday Sunday the Bromyard community came out in their hundreds to watch and volunteer at the game between Bromyard XI and Bromyard Legends.

Two teams of players comprising players that played for Bromyard Town between the 80’s & 00’s faced off in what turned out to be a one sided game

Final Result

Bromyard XI 8 – 0 Bromyard Legends

The game was organised to support Wayne ‘Tizer’ Tizzard for his Brain Tumour treatment. This turned out to be the pinnacle of the fundraising efforts after several events had also raised thousands, including the amazing amount raised on the GoFundMe page.

The final amount raised was over 28,000 pounds!

Bromyard FM played a small part in the day by providing music, holding the auction and providing match commentary that was heard internationally. The organisers and volunteers should be so proud to raise this amount.

What an incredible day & night it was, we don’t even know where to start. The love for Wayne is mindblowing and the effort made by everyone to make this possible makes you proud to be part of the town/county.

Over 600 of you showed up on the day, with hundreds listening in online to the event.

Please try show your appreciation to everyone who helped, this goes far beyond my efforts. To everyone who donated anything, worked on the bars, bbq’s, raffles, DJ, auctioneer, photographers, programmes, face paints, shirt sposnors, programme adverts, programme editor etc. Without all these people, the event wouldn’t have been what it was.
